We are planning 2020!

We are excited to announce our two Guests of Honor for our 2020 event.

First, we are thrilled to welcome NYT bestselling author Joshilyn Jackson, author of the book GODS IN ALABAMA.  She has a new thriller out titled NEVER HAVE I EVER and we are so excited she will be with us to talk about her work. The link to her website is to the left.

Next, we welcome Thomas Mullen, author of several works, including the DARKTOWN series.  DARKTOWN has been described as,“One incendiary image ignites the next in this highly combustible procedural…written with a ferocious passion that’ll knock the wind out of you.” —The New York Times Book Review.  It was also developed into a TV series starring Jamie Foxx.  His website is to the left as well.

We are adding authors constantly so tune in here soon for updates.  See you in February!

Every year, Murder in the Magic City does a gift basket auction to raise money for charity.  The baskets contain gift items and one mystery novel--often, but not necessarily, by one of our guest authors.

In past years, we have given money to Adult Literacy causes and The Crime Lab Project.  Almost all of the baskets are put together by my extremely wonderful and talented mother-in-law, Lynda Fenton.  So  I let her pick the charity.

This year the money will be again donated to R.E.A.L.

R.E.A.L.--Rehome. Educate. Adopt. Love.

R.E.A.L is a volunteer group in the Shoals area of  North Alabama, serving Franklin, Colbert, and Lauderdale counties.
Their goals are to help individuals to directly find their pet a new home with responsible and caring new owners, and to provide education to the public on the proper care of their pet.

R.E.A.L. has recently launched a program to help pet owners pay for needed vaccinations.  Proceeds from the baskets will help this important cause.

As the organization grows they will expand the public education on the proper care of pets, and we will offer more programs beneficial to the rehoming of pets in the Shoals.

Thank you for your support!

The baskets will be on display and auctioned silently throughout the day at Murder in the Magic City.  They start at very affordable prices.  Please consider bidding and therefore donating to this extremely important cause.
